At KANINI, we believe in contributing to society for a sustainable tomorrow. In line with this core philosophy, we continuously strive to protect the environment in every step we take as an organization. Our CEO, Babu Krishnasamy, has always been passionate about building a greener environment and focused on giving back to the community. Following his vision of taking environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects to the core of our business, we encourage each member of KANINI to participate in making this planet a happier place to live in. With these principles guiding us forward, we are always keen on being part of the green initiatives that come our way.
In our endeavor of creating a green and healthy environment, we joined Bharathiar University, in Coimbatore, in its vision of building a green paradise – the recreation of Kuyil Thoppu, the Puducherry grove from where renowned Tamil poet and freedom fighter Subramaniam Bharathiyar penned his beautiful poems. As part of this initiative, we are committed to planting and nurturing ONE THOUSAND TREES on the University campus.
Taking this initiative forward, KANINI’s senior leadership team, including Babu, recently visited the BU Campus to plant saplings of Neem, Mahaneem, Alstonia, Terminalia, Lagerstroemia, Cluster Fig, and Coconut among many other varieties of plants. The team also raised awareness about deforestation and global warming.
Eco-activist M. Yoganathan aka The Tree Man, who is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the ‘Eco Warrior’ award by the Vice-President of India, also joined this noble initiative, representing his Trust.
The main thought behind this Kuyil Thoppu project has been to sensitize people about the urgent need to plant more trees and embrace nature—just like how Subramania Bharathi had envisioned in his poetry.
As KANINI embarks on this journey of building a greener future, the aspiration is to create the industry benchmark in sustainability and inspire every stakeholder we connect within our progression.
