Our client is a leading multinational logistics company offering a comprehensive suite of services for both individuals and businesses. Their extensive portfolio encompasses residential and commercial relocation services, government logistical support, and specialized workplace solutions across various sectors.

Business Challenge

The logistics company aimed to enhance its operational efficiency and decision-making capabilities through improved data management. However, for this, they required critical insights into KPIs suchas On-time Pickup Percentage, On-time Delivery Percentage, Client Satisfaction Score, Claims Score, and Late Claim Payment Percentage.

The company’s existing logistics KPI dashboard demonstrated numerous limitations, and their data resided in disparate sources including MS SQL Database, SharePoint files, and a Data Lake. This restricted the much-needed holistic view of data and data-driven insights. While the company considered modernizing its existing dashboard, they were concerned about its compliance with the latest government regulations.

Solution Offered

To address these challenges, KANINI proposed a comprehensive data management solution:

  • A data transformation pipeline within the existing MS SQL Server environment was developed, leveraging stored procedures to handle data aggregations previously managed in Power BI.
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF) enabled the creation of a seamless pipeline that helped in storing the data in the client’s chosen analytics platform from the Data Lake. This integration ensured easy access to a broader range of data sets, fostering a comprehensive analytics environment.
  • The existing dashboard was reimagined as a Power BI KPI Dashboard, offering deeper insights into all five critical KPIs and empowering stakeholders with a more comprehensive understanding of performance trends. Features like interactive visualizations and drill-down menus facilitated deeper analysis.
