Client Overview
Our client is a leading global technology and services provider committed to improving people’s lives by providing advanced industrial and smart home solutions. Their customer base spans various industries and locations all over the world.
Business Challenge
Our client deals with a large volume of enterprise assets as part of their business operations. The use of multiple tools and legacy methods across the organization for various business processes was causing difficulties in tracking and managing their assets. It was time for a change.
Our client was looking for an advanced asset management solution that would integrate well with their existing systems and provide them with complete visibility into their organization’s assets – right from acquisition to disposal, and improve their overall asset utilization.
Solution Offered
At the outset, we ran an assessment exercise and analyzed the client’s existing process, and recommended implementing ServiceNow Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) to be able to manage their enterprise assets efficiently. Impressed with ServiceNow EAM’s features specific to tracking the asset lifecycle and reporting abilities, the client wanted to go with our suggestion and asked for our implementation plan.
Our experts proposed a phase-wise implementation approach to the client and walked them through the process. This helped the client understand the implementation process, thereby giving us the green light to implement ServiceNow EAM.
KANINI’s ServiceNow team started off with the first phase of implementation by integrating tools like AD (Active Directory) and SSO (Single Sign-on) with ServiceNow EAM to enable the client to grant or remove platform user access effortlessly. Subsequently, we configured ServiceNow EAM’s core functionalities, set up bulk import of asset data from XLS and CSV files, normalized asset data (standardizing the way asset data is structured and categorized), and created relevant reports and dashboards.
The second phase involved configuring stockroom management, asset lifecycle management, enterprise asset workspace, and the end-user portal in the ServiceNow EAM application. Post these configurations, we integrated RFID (Radio-frequency Identification) tool–which tracks assets using radio frequencies and enables viewing RFID Tag information (e.g., locations mapped to assets)with ServiceNow EAM. Furthermore, we implemented service catalogs, did a bi-directional integration with SAP (to exchange data between SAP and ServiceNow EAM), and created asset lifecycle reports and dashboards.
In the final phase of the implementation, our expert team configured the Mobile Agent application for ServiceNow EAM and created audits of asset stockrooms and locations in the mobile agent app. Following that, we created the required reports and dashboards for visibility into asset audits.
With the successful implementation of ServiceNow EAM, the client had a proper solution in place to monitor and manage their assets efficiently from a centralized platform.
